Preppsy covers MRCPsych (UK), RANZCP (Australia/NZ), and ABPN/USMLE (USA) psychiatry board exams. Our question bank is mapped to each exam's official blueprint.
Can I use Preppsy without uploading documents?
Yes! Preppsy includes a pre-loaded library of open textbooks (OpenStax Psychiatry) and a curated question bank of 5000+ items. You can start practicing immediately.

What is 'Solving Session' vs 'Exam Mode'?
Solving Session: Low-pressure practice with instant feedback, explanations, and teach-back for incorrect answers. Exam Mode: Timed, formal mock exam with results and detailed explanations after submission.
How does spaced repetition work?
Preppsy uses a Bayesian scheduler based on the forgetting curve. After each question, your retrieval strength is updated. Reviews are scheduled at optimal intervals — just before you're likely to forget.
What are 'teaching assets'?
When you miss a question, Preppsy generates personalized remediation: visual infographics, flowcharts, analogies, concept maps, and worked examples — all grounded in your source materials.
Can I track my progress over time?
Yes! The Analytics dashboard shows domain mastery heatmaps, accuracy trends, study calendars (GitHub-style), exam readiness gauges, and mastery badges.
Documents & Ingestion
What file formats are supported?
PDF, EPUB, DOCX, PPTX, Markdown, and plain text. For scanned PDFs, OCR is applied automatically.
How does document ingestion work?
Upload a textbook → Preppsy extracts structure (TOC, chapters) → Identifies psychiatry concepts → Builds a concept graph → Generates questions and teaching assets for each concept → You get a personalized adaptive course.
Can I ingest web articles and YouTube videos?
Yes! Use the 'Web & Video' page to paste URLs. Preppsy extracts content, transcripts, and creates learnable modules.
Is my uploaded content private?
Yes. Your documents are only accessible to you (and your instructor if you join a class). They are never used to train shared AI models without explicit consent.

How do I reset my password?
Click 'Forgot password?' on the login page. You'll receive an email with a secure reset link.
Can I delete my account and data?
Yes. Go to Dashboard → Compliance → Delete Account. All personal data is erased within 30 days per GDPR.
What's included in the free tier?
Free tier includes: Solving Sessions, Exam Mode, Analytics, document uploads (limited), and access to the core question bank.
How do institutional licenses work?
Institutions get: Class dashboards, LTI 1.3 LMS integration, SSO (SAML/OIDC), bulk user management, outcome analytics, and dedicated support. Contact [email protected].

Does Preppsy work offline?
Yes! Preppsy is a PWA with service worker caching. You can study downloaded content offline; progress syncs when reconnected.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. Your learning data and uploads are never used to train shared models. AI processing uses zero-retention policies. Only anonymized, aggregated metrics may improve our pedagogy engine.
Where is my data stored?
Primary data in EU (Frankfurt) PostgreSQL with pgvector. AI inference via OpenRouter (US) with SCCs. See GDPR page for details.
What accessibility features exist?
